Kirkstall Precision Engineering
Kirkstall Precision Engineering has been a market leader in medical and veterinary solutions for over 30 years, using the latest technologies to provide a wide range of products to a global client list.
Despite the current business climate, the company is going from strength to strength. The rise in demand has led Kirkstall to develop into other areas of high accuracy manufacturing, as well as the opportunity to expand with a new site extension and the opening of their own Apprenticeship Academy.
Along with this expansion, Kirkstall recently received their highest ever bulk order on hip cup impactors. Due to the complexity of the components, quality and functionality were of the highest importance. This led to them using a NIKKEN 5AX CNC Rotary Table with Triag work holding, ensuring a high standard of accuracy with a quick turnaround.
This was one of three NIKKEN Rotary Table investments by Kirkstall. Their initial purchase was alongside a similar unit produced by a competitor. Encouraged by the durability and high standard of the NIKKEN brand and having suffered reliability problems with the competitor’s unit, Kirkstall went on to invest in two more NIKKEN 5AX-201 tables in the space of 6 months, including an additional investment for x 3 Triag vices to compliment the NIKKEN setup.
In addition to the high quality outcomes of NIKKEN solutions, Managing Director, Adam Thornton commented on servicing and applications being a key factor when choosing to use NIKKEN. In previous instances where competitors had failed to provide reasonable time frames, NIKKEN had continuously provided same day on-site support when required, ensuring minimal downtime. In recent month’s Kirkstall have invested in a Matsuura MX330 with a 10 pallet system, due to the success and reliability of the supplied Triag solutions NIKKEN UK will be 1st choice for work holding.
