With a network of over 180 production and service sites around the world, Sulzer is a dominating company in the oil and gas industry providing solutions for chemical processing, including pumping, separation and mixing, and services for rotating equipment and infrastructure.
Having previously invested in a range of NIKKEN pre-setters and rotary tables, Sulzer were already aware of NIKKEN’S highly durable and accurate solutions.
Sulzer contacted NIKKEN regarding a more time-efficient solution to improve their current production of impellers as part of their pump assembly’s. NIKKEN recommended one of our most versatile rotary tables with 4th axis capabilities, the CNC260.
NIKKEN combined this with ALBERTI UMBERTO Angle Heads to ensure precision and durability. Also supplied with NIKKEN standard setup to allow for tool change on the Doosan DNM5700. NIKKEN created not only a more time-efficient solution but one that could produce a higher quality outcome.
Having previously used a conventional slotting machine and outside contractors to machine the internal key-ways of an impeller, the transition to NIKKEN products radically lowered production times by approximately half, potentially leading to a manufacturing increase of up to 700 components a year.
