Tajmac-ZPS - CENERG Application
Tajmac-ZPS, a.s. are long-standing customers of NIKKEN, having invested in numerous NIKKEN 4th and 5th axis rotary tables for use with their range of machine tools.
Most recently NIKKEN supplied our CNC260T rotary table for integration on to an H630 horizontal machining centre (equipped with a pallet changer handling two pallets). This application was developed for an Indian Customer, CENERG, who produce accessories for research drills in the mining industry. The client required a turnkey setup which was capable of supporting the manufacture of 3 types of their drill head products.
The engineering team from Tajmac-Zps had the difficult task of integrating the control systems and connections for the NIKKEN CNC260T rotary table to a machine tool platform, which, featured an automatic pallet change system. This proved to be one of the most interesting innovations and developments carried out by the company so far.
The workpiece clamping solution was also designed by the Tajmac-ZPS team, who developed a ‘tailor-made’ solution for the drilling head workpieces. Due to lack of clearance within the working envelope of the machine, a shortened version of the rotary cylinder with clamping rod from HOWA was also installed to control the power clamping chuck.
The main benefits of this application were the elimination of the non-productive times associated with the preparation and setting up of the workpiece. As a result, with NIKKEN’s CNC260T rotary table being an integral part of the solution, the customer is able to achieve a much higher rate of productivity and performance over the scope of the three components.
After successful acceptance of the CNC machine by CENERG at Tajmac-ZPS headquarters in Malenovice, the owners of CENERG expressed their satisfaction with the given technology. CENERG has several branches in India that produce products for the mining industry. With a possible annual capacity of up to 18,000 products per year, at a cycle time of several hours for a complete part, such solutions demonstrate the considerable potential for future collaborations.
